2012 EVENTS
MAY
We're ready for a season of fun! Evening social, you bring snack items or cookies, brownies, etc., and we'll supply hot coffee & punch. It's a chance to get acquainted with new campers and catch up with old friends we haen't seen in a while. Come join us!
Cook dinner for mom! You bring ingredients for homemade Goulash! Just bring enough ground beef, macaroni, and stewed or diced tomatoes to make Goulash for your family. We'll do the cooking, so that Mom won't have to!
Get the "BEAR" facts: Where are the "BEAR" necessities? Junk food pot luck luncheon. Story time w/ Mr. Bear from Camp Read-A-Lot. Pancake breakfast with the "bearries".
Family fun weekend! Pool is open. Bingo, Mini-Golf Tournament, Clumbsy the Entertain (Sat. night), Talent Show (Sun.). You're the talent!
JUNE
This weekend honors our Military, EMTs, Firefighters and Police. Camp one night get the second night half price off our summer rate with proof of position. Special events throughout the weekend. Wear your uniform and show your pride in our parade. Firetruck rides, water hose contest, bike safety instructions. Just say no to DRUGS, free handouts and more. Come help us honor these fine men and women. POT LUCK DINNER (Saturday at 6pm).
All day Saturday will be backwards. Wear your clothes backwards. Novelties ice cream on sale for only $1.00 from 8am - 10am. Learn to do the backwards stroke. Kick ball running the bases backwards. Pot Luck Supper serving all Breakfast foods. Eating breakfast at the end of the day.
Relax, love & live! Simply a "do nothing" weekend. Coffee and Donuts - Sun. morning
All benefits go toward our KOA care camps. Helping children with cancer be able to have the memories of camping. Fun for the whole family, there'll be all kinds of carnival games, popcorn, magic show, juggling, hot dogs, cotton candy, so much fun you won't want to miss it.
Bring out your stars and stripes for this week of family fun! Decorate your sites in red, white and blue. Don't forget to put out as many American flags as you can. Join us for the holiday parade. Decorate your golf cart, bikes, strollers or just dress up yourself and walk. Count how many flags you see throughout the entire park contest!
JULY
Great American Picnic: History repeats itself and so does this famous hometown picnic! Sack races, water balloon toss, egg toss, softball game, pie eating contests and many more activities that celebrate this old-fashioned picnic. Dress up in old fashion costumes. Invite Laura Ingalls. Bring picnic-type food, don't forget the pie for dessert!
Sometimes you feel like a "NUT" ... sometimes you don't. Dress goofy for this day, crazy shorts, mismatched top, funny hat. Peanut, Peanut, who's got the Peanut? Games, scavenger hunt, nutty bingo. Bring your favorite dessert with lots of NUTS, for our nutty social event.
Life is better when you share it with a friend. Outdoor drive-in movie, bring your golf carts, blankets or chairs. Bring 3 friends with you and come play BUNCO! Great game, prizes. Ice cream floats during half-time (only for participating bunco players.)
A perfect weekend for families with young children to come to camp. Walk down the "Happy Trail", play games, win prizes, and enjoy the fun we have for you. Contest to see what is in Miss Anita's backpack. Arts and crafts making backpacks! Camp Read-A-Lot backpacks get filled with stickers and prizes.
AUGUST
Wild and wacky stuff! We'll have water wars, homemade water slides, water bombs slingshot contest, and more. Don't forget your suit!
This is your turn to spend quality time with your family. How well do you work together as a team? Dress everyone in the same color shirt and come out and compete against other families in all kinds of different events. Tug of war, bocce ball, scooter relay, potato sack race and more. Bring in your appetites for a delicious dinner of Sloppy Joe's, followed by an evening of board games.
How much chocolate is too much chocolate? Chocolate scavenger hunt, candy bar bingo, ice cream social with chocolate sundaes, pancake breakfast with chocolate chip pancakes.
Campers Craft Fair and Yard Sale on Saturday. Put items out to sell at your site. Sign up for the Progressive DInner. Each family participating needs to make one item for up to 10 people. Cheese / crackers, toss salad w/dressing, spaghetti, homemade bread or rolls w/ butter or dessert of your choice.
On your mark, get set ... Go Camp this weekend and you will be racing! Enjoy all kinds of race games. Bring your family and friends to see who will take the checkered flag. Bring a matchbox or Hot Wheels car for our mini Grand Priz race. NASCAR site decorating contest. Watch the IRWIN tool night race on our big screen TV. There'll be NASCAR door prizes.
SEPTEMBER
Back to school for the little ones with the crayons in all sorts of colors. Don't forget the ever changing leaves with all the bright colors of the fall season. Take your breath away with the fall sunsets. Just sit back and take it all in. It is that beautiful!
Farewell Pot Luck Dinner! Please bring your own cutlery and plates. Don't forget that campers have "hungry man" appetities so bring enough for seconds! There will be some apple pie for dessert! After dinner entertainment will be a fun game of "Apples to Apples". Stick around and laugh out loud!
Nature scavenger hunt. Roasting marshmallows by your fire. Sharing fall family time together.
Trick or treating daytime and night time. Campsite decorating contest, costume party (prizes for outstanding costumes of all ages), cider, donuts, pumpkin cookies. Scarecrow contest.
OCTOBER
Bingo! Fun indoor games if the weather is not cooperating.
